When choosing your lens, consider conditions and the amount of light for those environments. The lower the VLT (visual light transmitted), the darker the lens, and less light passes through. For the category ratings, they fall into five categories ranging from bright, sunny skies (CATEGORY 4) to night-riding (CATEGORY 0).
